Tweetstorm - an occasional series on decentralize.today where we dig out the most revealing threads on Twitter so you don't have to!

Fun fact: Google's YouTube has been auto-uploading millions (? really??) of videos *SECRETLY* into accounts all across the platform and "growing" revenue for "creators" Here's a video I just recorded showing a few examples from this month: invidious.snopyta.org/watch?v=mvTTz51O… brief ⛈️⚖️🧵

If you go to YouTube and search "Provided by YouTube by IIP-DDS" you will awaken your own personal hell, because all the videos are extremely low quality, but uploaded on official channels. This same problem exists for DOZENS of similar shell orgs...copyright disaster here⤵️😅⛈️

A huge amount of independent artists have been complaining ALL over YouTube and various websites, desperately trying to get anyone to pay attention to these "provided to youtube" uploads and explain the bullshit videos they are finding auto-uploaded into their accounts...
Here are a few examples of "provided by youtube" content auto-uploaded unlisted into the *official* accounts..
Frank Sinatra @ invidious.snopyta.org/watch?v=Vii35PXT…
Kiss @ invidious.snopyta.org/watch?v=P2IYEks1…
Joni Mitchell @ invidious.snopyta.org/watch?v=FQ5pg_Xd…
Santana @ invidious.snopyta.org/watch?v=DZkmyAPJ…
SO many more..

Look at this trash that Google is allowing to be auto-uploaded into the OFFICIAL Youtube channel for @aaliyah - look at the fucking image they stuck on her song "One in a million" w/ the sloppy ass text "Wedding Reception Music" invidious.snopyta.org/watch?v=XJm0L1gy… vs. her public profile⤵️

YouTube should clarify exactly why this "auto upload garbage quality unlisted audio-only videos into official accounts" exists for so many IP-content-farms, who are likely buying licensing rights to very old albums, and then thrusting crap into real accounts w/o any notice.⛈️🥸💩
I'll end this thread with a hit song from the band Kool and the Gang -- unfortunately this video was uploaded into their official account last week and it looks like it was produced by someone purposefully trying to harm their brand. Great job Google... invidious.snopyta.org/watch?v=LGxdflDs…
*and just to note, these videos that are being auto-uploaded likely have "revenue sharing" for the videos between the official accounts and the sham-content-houses that are claiming the rights. If you run a huge brand YouTube.. uhh check your unlisted videos, then scream.⛈️⚖️🖖
